“Hang onto your mixing bowls! The Makes-Me-Wanna SHOUT! Coconut Cake Challenge will put an extra bounce into your Spring. Presented by Eatonville Restaurant — The Soul of Southern Food– and Church Lady Cake Diaries, the challenge invites amateur bakers from the Washington, DC Metropolitan area to compete for prize money, have their cake featured on the menu of a premiere Southern food restaurant, and nab the title for “D.C.’s Ultimate Coconut Cake.” The Makes-Me-Wanna-Shout! Coconut Cake Challenge will benefit Miriam’s Kitchen, a non-profit organization that provides meals and support services to homeless men and women in the District of Columbia.

Applications are being accepted until March, 1, 2011.”
