  • Hey…
You’ll do great. A few years ago, I effortlessly, underline effortlessly, lost 55 pounds in 5 months doing my own version of Atkins diet. I never gave up alcohol or fresh veggies, but swore off “white” stuff — bread, rice, pasta & potatoes.
The SB diet is a straight rip-off of DR A, with a much neater sounding title and a more immediate insertion of carboriffic veggies and such.

  • Don’t sweat it. You can still be a foodie and do South Beach- I started it last Feb and lost 20lbs. Be real strict for the first 2 weeks- no cheating. After that modified cheating works (ex: pick either grains or sugar, whatever affects you the least in terms of waistline.) Lots of fiberous veggies like broccoli are really good, and having SB-approved snacks to chomp on all day long. pistacios, lit ‘n fit yogurts, turkey jerky (no sugar), and No Sugar Added fudgesicles are a must. seriously, the fudgesicles are totally allowed and will get you through the post-dinner sweet craving. Eating out: go for chilli, bbq, salads, mediterranean food, and seafood.
    best wishes-
